It's time to move!!!

It's time to move!!!

For those who follow my dull life featured in my blog, they would know that a month ago, I had been ranting about moving on, finding a room to stay cuz my tenancy expired. Now, that I have finally found a shelter (damn expensive btw), it's time to start the most irritating thing about moving - packing.

Trust me, there's ntg worse than piling up your belongings while stuffing them into a single luggage. Thank god for me that I have several bags cuz my belongings, after stacking each one over another, they literally reach the ceiling o_o

My clothes are more than abundant. Plus, I have a myriad of undies...*ahem* not all are for normal outings*. Since earlier this year, I have purchased tons of clothes as if I don't have enough. lolx. Some are "donated" since people don't appreciate what they wear. A few visits from my parents increase the number as well. What can I say, they are the one paying for it while I'm the one wearing it...hehe

On to another staggering list of belongings, my so-called necessities are all over the room. Let's see...where can I start.

Well, I have my LEGO. Though the collections here are minute in comparison with my other collections back in my hometown, they are still troublesome cuz I need to ensure that none of the teensy-wheesy pieces are missing. I was supposed to have in my possession here but my bro took them all T.T

Anyway, I need to place all the important yet tiny pieces in a receptacle with assurance that there are no holes or tears inside the box. Believe me when I say that even one negligible hole can render a LEGO piece to become a lost treasure of the century.

The next item on the list would be my knowledge. LOLX. Not the abstract kind of course. They
are my books. Tons, piles, stacks of them. ==

You can see from the pic on the right that there's alot right? Truth be told, that ain't even half of it. I still have my college textbooks, files and folders. Over the year, I have bought various
reading materials such as National Geo, novels and most importantly, my graphic novels or simply, my comics XD

The only problem is...what am I supposed to stuff them into O__O
See, the only luggage I have is this. The others are just normal bags for classes and small travelling bags made for a day-trip to some rural village. It will be a miracle if I could compress all the items in my list into that. In addition, I forgot one more essential item. Can u guess it?

*_*

No?

(^.^)

lolx

XD

The clue is in one of the pics XP
.......................................................
.......................................................

It's my beloved Penggy. HEHE. It has a fat head =.= That's gonna be a major problem.

Anyway, whether I manage to move into my new place, we'll have to see by 1 Jan cuz that's my moving date. hehe

My Holiday Cheers for 23rd

Note: All of this occurred solely on 23 December 2010

Time:1am
Venue: SS2
Task: Going back

Well, a certain famous blogger had returned to the land of Malaysia but apparently, he only had one day to spend with us. In order not to waste any precious time, me and him and a group of friends decided to yum cha even though there are a few social hindrances and location inconveniences. We ended our "long" yum cha session at Murnis around 1am-ish.

Time: 6.30am
Venue: Kepong
Task: Waking up

As I mentioned, he only had one day to waste his time on us. So, a plan was formulated to eat Dim Sum as early as 7am. Though some of us managed to rub the sands off our eyes, the whole group was only present not until 7.50am. The main host was lost along the way. That wasn't the worst case scenario. To make matters more inconvenient for everyone, the host forgot to turn his headlights off so the car died due to battery exhaustion. After attempts of jump started the car by pushing it, we eventually waited for the mechanics to open at 9am. In the meantime, we were mesmerized by the power of Tarot Cards. (Dun ask much) It was quite an eventful morning to say the least =)

Time:10am
Venue: Ikea, PJ
Task: Buying random items

After the Kepong trip, there was time to waste before each of us had to complete our own tasks for the day. Hence, Ikea was our next destination. Mind you that I never went to Ikea before for my entire life so it was sth special for me (>.<)
I was amazed and I tried to savour my moments in Ikea (Life's too short) while the others went off to check out the items on their shopping list. When everyone was done, we went to the canteen to chow on the so-called heavenly meatballs wherein one bite can kill you and resurrect you seconds later just because it is heavenly. ==

Time:12pm
Venue: Bukit Bintang
Task: Waiting for Dad

This was when everyone went their separate ways. My dad was in town so thought of spending the afternoon with him before he returned back to Sarawak. Truth was, he had money and I was so not looking forward to spend the insufficient cash I call my allowance. He bought me some stuff and treat me for lunch in some high-class restaurant in Sungai Wang. Again, this doesn't happen much in my current life so I savoured every moment though walking around the area gave me fatigue.

Time: 3pm
Venue: Bukit Bintang - Pavilion - KLCC - Pavilion - Time Square - KL central - Midvalley - KL central - Kelana Jaya Station - Sunway Pyramid - HOME
Task: Searching for my comic and getting home
Just right after my dad left for the airport, that was when my day started to get really hectic and tiring. As you all already know, I'm an avid comic reader. I'm proud to say I'm a geek and during the excruciating journey, I was looking for Gotham City Sirens: Songs of the Sirens. It's the Volume II for Gotham City Sirens, a DC comic revolving around Catwoman, Harlequin and Poison Ivy. All of them are former villainess who trying to fit in in Gotham without causing any trouble which to no avail

Anyway, the paperback book was bound to be in some expensive bookstores since the MPH in Sungai Wang clearly didn't have it. As a matter of fact, the lousy bookstore didn't even have a single comic book. So off I went in search of the elusive comic book. I tried the Times in Pavilion but also to no avail. Heck, the staff even labelled the sections wrongly. INCOMPETENCE!!!

Since I last saw it in Kinokuniya, the extremely up-to-date bookstore around the whole KL, I decided to walk there so I was in no mood to take any public transport which would just delay my goal. Btw, I didn't buy it the last time I saw it was because of financial setback. Hence, Daddy came along =)

So, I walked toward the seemingly tall twin-towers, vaguely remembering the roads en route there. Fortunately, I found the Aquaria, an aquarium in KL which was connected to KLCC. Following the trail from there, I easily found my way to the towers and after that, the bookstore. The downside to it? C'mon, there's always a downside to EVERYTHING. I couldn't find the book!!! According to the staff, they did not own such book but I was like " I saw it with my own eyes!!!"

Didn't wanna waste my already half-emptied energy bar, I sought the whole shelves for the book without heeding the staff's statement. Half of the comic section shelves later, I gave up. Feeling disappointed, I tried to recall any other bookstores within my reach. That was when Time Square came into my mind. However, to get there was the only problem. I could take the novice adventurer way out by taking the LRT and switching to the other LRT or I could walk there from KLCC.

After minutes of considerations, walking sounded much more cost-worthy. Less then half an hour later and severals near-death experience on KL roads, I managed to arrive the designated spot in one piece. Again, there was another problem. The once huge and impressive Borders in Time Square was derided of its pride and demoted to the lower ground floor. Furthermore, the book I wanted was nowhere in sight.

Sighing, I almost gave up cuz my feet was bleeding due to the excessive power walk and my shoulder strained cuz of the laptop in my backpack. But I never lost hope for if I did, I had to come back out there again next month and think of the psychological effects it would bestow on me. Therefore, Midvalley became my next destination since there is a comic book store there solely for geeks like me. Thank Stan Lee for I finally found the book in the comic bookstore. It was actually the cashier who told me about the availability of the book. If he didn't mutter a word, you would have had a really exhausted emo boy right now.

With purchase done, I giddily skipped around while smiling insanely but my moment of joy came to a halt when I realized I had to go home. After asking a lady from the information booth, I thought I would know where to go but instead, I was lost on the highway. But my tiny hope burned bright again when I noticed a bus en route to KL central. So I went back there, took the Kelana Jaya LRT and waited one freaking hour for U623 bus driver to arrive.

For that, my day concluded with a very tired boy happily reading a comic book. ^^

Movie Review - Tron Legacy

I know it's been a long since my last movie review post. Truth of the matter is I've caught up with several things and one of them is sloth. Anyhow, I watched Tron Legacy yesterday and I just had to feature it in my blog. It's too awesome!!!

There were shiny lights everywhere. Spinning. Zigzagging. Derrezing. Though the pace is slow, it has fantastic soundtrack as well as special effects. Once the character is inside the computer, that's where you can't take your eyes off. Plus, Daft Punk and Olivia Wilde (you might know her as 13 in House) are in the movie. Olivia is breathtaking with the sexy new bob-styled hairdo.

Just so you know, everything happens inside a computer mainframe. Bare in mind that do not, I repeat, DO NOT watch it in 3D. That's one of its downside. Moreover, it's advisable to search the local DVD store to find the first Tron movie (yes, this is the sequel). Honestly, I was confused at some of the dialogues because they refers back to the original film.

Despite the flaws, the movie was enjoyable. If I get the chance, I ma watch it over again ^^ (minus the 3D glasses)

Rating: 4 out of 5

Arkham City - Hugo Strange

YAY!!!!!!!!!! The first real trailer of the game XD The teaser trailer from the previous post didn't show much but this one gives us a glimpse of the first villain from the upcoming Batman game - Batman: Arkham City. It's the sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Those of you who watch the above trailer will figure out that the villain is actually Hugo Strange (like duh).

You can tell by his obvious mad scientist appearance that he's smarter than most of batman's roster of villains. In fact, he's actually a master of psychology with a genius-level of intelligence. However, like all Batman's villains, he's just as insane and obsessed.

For Hugo, his obsession dwells around finding out the identity of Batman. He succeeds of course but it takes a toll on his sanity. The dude even dresses up as Batman and fights crimes. LOL. He does more harm than good, mind you. Hehe.

Moving on, his objectives for this game is evidently messing with Batman's head by threatening him that his identity is at stake. That's just an assumption of course. Shall update when more info are revealed. In the meantime, enjoy the trailer and its graphic ^^

Geek Alert!!!

Finally!!! After so long (approximately 3 months) of waiting for the trailer, it's finally out!!!

What am I talking about? Why...only a Marvel Comic zealot would know.

THOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SON OF ODIN, WARRIOR OF ASGARD, OWNER OF MJOLNIR...etc etc etc

For those of you who are left in the dark, Thor is one of Marvel prominent character with god-like power. In fact, he is a god. Loosely based on Norse mythology, Thor is one of the original avenger, alongside Iron Man, Captain America. However, the movie focuses on his exile to Midgard (Earth) where he has to learn morals among humans. (He used to be an arrogant, conceited barbarian) XD

Check Out The Trailer Below:

Furthermore, that ain't the only good news for geeks like me. Batman: Arkham City also released its teaser trailer to taunt fans like me (CURSE YOU!!! >.<)

Long story short, Arkham Asylum was relocated to downtown Gotham and in the prison itself, crimes are rising. Plan Batman: Arkham Asylum then you will figure out the mystery like Batman himself XP

And there's the third and fourth ^^

OK...my lasttwo cards.
Gingerbread man is for Ms Sulyn, my beloved kiddish English teacher and teddy is for my beloved complex Math teacher, Ms May.

The two photos shown above are the starting point of their cards. Again, I'm no expert in card designing, so I apologize for the crudeness of the cards XP

Ms May

For Ms May, her gift is similar to Ms Eunice's (previous post). But the dog is brown instead. For her card, the design just came as I was cutting the paper. It was planned to make it as it is. LOLx. Besides, the teddy bear looks fat (><)

Ms Sulyn:
For Ms Sulyn, I have bought a Panda (also under DoooDoll) for her. I punched a hole at the bottom right side of the card so I can attach the bear to it. On the second pic, it's the interior. Etc, etc...that's the end of my gift for her XP

Anyway, I have sent all the lecturers on list their gifts ^^ Dun expect me to make more cuz I wanna enjoy my holiday for now XD

On the second day of christmas~

It's the second day~~~Today, my present is presented to my Psychology lecturer - Ms Eunice. Though she has only been my lecturer for more than a few weeks, she proved that she can endure a nuisance like me and my cache of random questions. XD She's quite lovely and tries her best not to choke me so I thought of giving her sth. Truth be told, she was not on the initial list until further time XP.

On to the card!!!!
So, my card started off on the left.
A simple stark x-mas tree with ntg on it. Even the background is plain.

With a touch of my amateurish cutting and decorating skills, the card transforms into this:

Sorry bout the bad camera angle (>.<) Notice the puppy behind? It's part of the gift. It's a dooodoll product. Honestly, I have no idea what to give her so I throw a dart at any of the animals displayed on the shelves.

Here's the back of the card. Btw, it's just a simple square lousy-made card with various christmas decors.

Tmr, I shall display the final two, after I am done with my class and whatever randomness that I have scheduled to partake =D

The First Card Revealed!

As I said so last week, I'm in the holiday mood. So I decided to make X-mas cards for a bunch of selected ppl. The first few are my lecturers ^^ but not all of them will receive my gifts XP

Anyway, the very first lecturer who received my card is Mr Keith. We all just call him Keith for the informality of it. Plus, he hates ppl calling him with a Mr at the front XD. Teaching culture and other stuff related to it, he's a fun lecturer. It's part of the reason why he is in my list...hehe. Btw, this week we learned about death and the burial rites that comes with it. See, told ya it's fun.

This the prototype of it. The one below is the final version of it. I'm sorry that I don't have the picture for the inside cuz I forgot to take a shot of it. (><) But just imagine everything glittery in there.
The gift that comes with it is a Manchester United key chain. He's a total ManU fan. Go figure.
Again, I'm sorry because I forgot to take a picture of the gift. But I found a similar photo somewhere online. Just use your imagination and picture in your mind a cluster of it. =P

So, first gift and card are disposed of XD. Tomorrow there's another one. May I say, she quite cute ^^

TOMB RAIDER 9!!!!!

That's right raiders, the next Tomb Raider game is well on its way to the shelves. This time, the story will focus on her origin as how she becomes who she is today. Just look at the image. It's so life-like

The Walking Dead

I have no idea why but ever since I first played Resident Evil, I am forever hooked onto the subject of the living dead. On 31 October, my zombie hype went higher because it is the premiere of the latest TV series - The Walking Dead.

This brand new TV series is currently showcased on AMC network. It is based on the popular comic of the same name whereby a group of survivors strove to live in the apocalyptic zombie world. In Malaysia, the show is broadcast on Astro Channel 710 (if I'm not mistaken).

The comic is written by Robert Kirkman who also came up with Marvel Zombies where all Marvel characters turned into a undying zombies. The show, on the other hand, was produced by Frank Darabont. He is known to be working alongside Steven Spielberg in some of Steve's major films.

Although The Walking Dead isn't made into a major film, it's actually better than any zombie films I've seen (for now). The dialogue doesn't suck and the acting is realistic enough, albeit some who are a tad emotional. Another reason why I like the show so much is because it consists of diverse characters, ranging from African American to Korean.

The Characters (Spoilers alert!!!)

The above picture shows the main characters both in the comics and the programme. Another realistic thing about this series is that major characters die before the minor ones. Quite depressing but makes it more interesting.

Here's a really brief description of all the prominent characters because they are tons of them.

File:Thumb-rick.jpgFile:Rick Grimes.jpg
Name: Rick Grimmes
Role:
He's the protagonists of the whole series. He's a small town cop who is put into a coma during a shoot-out (watch the trailer). When he wakes up, the world is already infested with zombies. Of course he is terrified at first but later he picks up his wits and courage and begins a journey to find his wife and son who left when the apocalypse started.
Attitude: Tough, persistent, has the potential being a leader, caring, willing to save others (even the ones who are bitten)
Notable scene: He put a zombie out of its misery in the first episode.

This zombie has half a torso. It's quite persistent in the sense that it chases Rick even though its legs are gone. Rick, feeling pity for the monstrosity, put a bullet in its head.

Thumb-lori.jpgFile:Lori Grimes.jpg
Name: Lori Grimmes
Role:
As the wife of the primary protagonist, she leaves with her son to join a caravan with other survivors while Rick is still in the hospital. She is quite the mother figure but her devotion to her spouse is somewhat questionable. More details reveal later.
Attitude: Motherly, Panicky, Caring towards the women and children in the caravan
Notable scene: Having an affair with one of the main character XD

Thumb-carl.jpgCarl Grimes.jpg
Name: Carl Grimmes
Role:
Son of both Rick and Lori, he escapes with his mother and join a group of survivors who reside at the outskirt of Atlanta. Do not judge him by his age for he proves his strength as fighter (that's in the comics anyway).
Attitude: Loving son, courageous (in the comics)

File:Thumb-shane.jpgThe Walking Dead -3 page 3 Shane.jpg
Name:Shane Walsh
Role:
The leader of the caravan before Rick's arrival. He escapes with Lori and Carl during the outbreak. He was Rick's partner and skilled in firearms. Though he looks after the group of survivors, do not be deceived for he is not what he seems to be.
Attitude: Skillful, adamant, self assertive, brutal, likes to be in command
Notable scene: He's the one who flirted with Lori XP

File:Glenn comparison.jpg
Name: Glen
Role:
He is of Korean descendant. He joins the group of survivors and likes to go off alone to the city to find supplies. He works well alone since he was previously a car thief due to his large amount of debts. He quickly befriends Rick whom he save on one occasion.
Attitude: Extrovert but doesn't like to talk about his past, able to focus during missions and personally I find him quite cute XD
Notable scene: He has to smear zombie goo all over his body.
Andrea.jpgAndrea 2.png
Name: Andrea
Role:
One of the members of the survivors, she used to be a clerk at a law firm. She portrays herself as a strong female figure but she couldn't set her mind straight when it comes to emotional breakdown.
Attitude: Formidable
Notable scene: She has to shoot someone close to her (sorry, this is a big spoiler so I dun wan to reveal it ^^)

Dale (Guts).jpgDale.jpg
Name: Dale Horvath
Role:
He is the oldest guy in the group but do not let his age misguide you. He can handle severe situation independently. He's also good in firearms as well. Moreover, he survives more issues than the other prominent characters. (in comics)
Attitude: Independent, caring
Notable scene: He decapitates a zombie's head~

Truth be told, there are more characters but I'm too tired to type them all out and find relevant pictures of them. Go watch the series or read the comics to know them further.Lolx

The Synopsis
Dead people starts to rise from the grave, eating nearby meat, animals' as well. Soon, the world plunges into a war with the dead. The winner is obvious. Then this group of survivors is trying to find peace and solace where they can avoid the dead. The usual~~

So far there are only 5 episodes and the 6th is coming out this week. All of them are superb with gore and undead. Don't forget, this is broadcast in television, not the theaters. Hence, it is pretty impressive for them to depict such slaughter of both human and zombies on television. I think Malaysian TV will censor most parts because there are decapitation, mutilation, cannibalistic scenes, intestine pulled right out from the abdomen, etc. So, it is preferable to watch it from online. For gore and undead fans, you guys will definitely enjoy it.

And...not to burst your bubbles but there's only 6 episodes for season 1 (>.<) But they are making Season 2 now with 13 episodes ^^. And u gotta give them credit for making the series akin to a movie production.

ANYWAY, here is a photo gallery of all the zombies in the series ^^

For your convenience, I have attached the trailer below so those of you who have never heard of it, here's a sneak peek of it. Let me tell y'all, it's AWESOME!!!

Sick...tired...sicker...

If you hear someone sneezing like an elephant in Sunway College. That's probably me. Recently, a homeless flu virus decided to reside in my nose. While making itself cozy and comfy, it threw a house warming party and invited headache and fatigue. Not to mention sore throat as well. When these guys were together, they partied hard.

Seriously, I have been sick for 2 days, going for the third tomorrow. Plus, the flu moved in at a bad timing. I have loads of work to finish and maths homework left undone. To make matter worse, there's a freaking test coming up. It is also the reason why I haven't been updating much. (Sorry faithful readers)

Hope the flu decides to move out soon cuz I'm crashing the party.

We R Who We R

Finally, the latest MV from Ke$ha's new single, We R who We R is out. As usual, this video is all about parties and raves but the songstress has set up a higher notch. She is more decorative in this video, literally.

Enjoy the video~

Christmas is here

It's that time of the year again and everyone knows what that means...HOLIDAY!!! *ahem* Well, Christmas as well. I have no idea why but I am full of Christmas spirit this year. Maybe it's because I finally get to spend Christmas here in West Malaysia. My hometown X-mas celebration was as dead a cemetery....seriously.

Anyway, back to the Christmas. The holiday festival impulses are swirling in my body. This year, I decided to give back to some people I find who make my life worthwhile. Let's just say it has something to do with the things below.

Will reveal the mystery gift and people next week. Stay tune ^.^
